Mark has been a licensed property, casualty, life, and health agent since shortly after graduation from Mentor High School in 1980. He has been in the insurance business at Makee Agency since graduation. Working alongside his father John Makee, he gained the experience and knowledge to become a professional insurance agent. The passing of John in 1997 was a huge loss to the agency, and most especially those who knew him best, his family and friends. An agency perpetuation plan was set in place and the agency has shown steady growth since 1997 under Mark’s direction.

Moving forward, this plan allowed Makee Agency to expand, hiring several employees to grow the business to see the vision that his father, John, had. This plan focused on customer service to the local family and business owner, making them a priority. Many relationships with companies and providers have been taken on to assist in serving Makee Agency customers and competing with other agencies.
